RTÉ’s Ray D’Arcy Show entirely one-sided on abortion

In December 2016, for the third time in a year, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) upheld a complaint of media bias in favour of abortion against the Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio 1.

Biased interviews like these are par for the course on RTÉ with presenters faithfully parroting the speaking notes of the abortion lobby while totally blanking all pro-life perspectives.

For the latest breach, the BAI also issued a formal “warning notice” to RTÉ given that it was the third complaint upheld in less than a year against the Ray D‘Arcy Show. Summing up a previous finding, the BAI said listeners “would have reasonably concluded that the presenter [D’Arcy] endorsed the views of his interviewee and was articulating a partisan position.”

There are no indications that RTÉ is taking any meaningful steps to correct this and get its house in order. On a positive note though, the public are becoming more and more aware of the bias. Slowly but surely RTÉ is being exposed for its relentless bias and refusal to provide fairness.
