Is RTÉ Biased?
For years, RTÉ has flouted its legal obligation to provide balance when covering right to life issues like abortion. In recent years, this has been particularly apparent with RTÉ constantly failing to provide any objectivity when abortion legislation was going through the Dáil in 2013 and more recently in its coverage of the campaign to strip away the last remaining protection for the unborn child under the 8th Amendment.
The examples of RTÉ bias on this website are just a sampling of the more flagrant cases of bias in recent times. At present, RTÉ is wrapped in a culture of immunity from accountability when it comes to fair and impartial broadcasting on the abortion issue.
Hear Both Sides has one simple goal – to bring the message about RTÉ bias to the wider public to give people an opportunity to consider the evidence and make up their own minds on the issue.
RTÉ only goes big on abortion stories (whether based on fact or not) that challenge the pro-life side. They never pursue stories that challenge those campaigning for abortion.
This is a fact RTÉ cannot dispute.
